The new season got off to a bad start down in Garrabost as Back went down to a Sam Macsween goal just 15 minutes from time.
Lashing wind and rain made decent football next to impossible. Point had the benefit of the wind in the first half but apart from Wally and Spike both hitting shots a foot beyond the post they made little headway whilst Back offered nothing in return.
As expected Back were in possession far more as the wind was in their favour. Murray Macleod then had a great chance to put Back ahead but shot straight at the keeper.
Then from a Back corner Point raced up the pitch and Sean Macleod hit an angled shot which was parried by Andy Gress. Dave Maclean tried to clear but Sam Macsween nipped in to slam the ball in the empty net.
Back nearly equalised when Chris Macleod back-heeled a free kick onto the post and inthe ensuing melee no-one could get their toe on the ball. Despite their best efforts Back were unable to find the equaliser.
